For spatial thinking and map making projects, Mapping Together uses appropriate tools including Google Maps, Google Earth and Knightlabs products. We usually start with Esri ArcGIS Online and Esri ArcGIS StoryMaps because of the ease of learning the tools and because they are free for K12 schools!
